Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy & Ethics

Synergy Publication maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, and duplicate publication. We believe in preserving authentic research and respecting intellectual property rights.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Directly copying text, figures, tables, or ideas from another source without proper citation or acknowledgment.
  • Paraphrasing significant blocks of text from another publication without attribution.
  • Self-plagiarism (text recycling), which is the redundant reuse of one's own previously published research without citation or justification.
  • Translating research papers from another language and presenting them as original work.

Plagiarism Detection & Similarity Thresholds

All submitted manuscripts are screened using industry-standard plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) during the pre-screening phase. Synergy Publication journals enforce the following guidelines:

  • The overall similarity index must be **under 10%**.
  • No single source should contribute more than **2%** of the similarity index.
  • The methodology section must not contain plagiarized text, even with citation, as research methods must be original or appropriately described in the author's own words.

Consequences and Disciplinary Actions

If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the authors will receive a formal warning. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be formally retracted, and a notice of retraction will be published. Synergy Publication reserves the right to notify the authors' institutional heads and blacklist authors from future submissions.
