Article Processing Charges (APCs), Waiver and Discount Policy

The Journal of Transformative Pedagogies and Learner Engagement is fully committed to removing financial barriers to high-quality open-access scholarly publishing, particularly during its launch phase. Journal of Transformative Pedagogies and Learner Engagement will operate with Zero Article Processing Charges (APCs), Publication Fees, or Submission Fees for the first two issues (Jan 2026, May 2026) published, except for the DOI fee of 500 INR.  Then after:

 

1. Purpose

This policy ensures transparency and fairness in publication costs. The journal is committed to making scholarly publishing accessible while maintaining high academic standards. Article Processing Charges (APCs) help cover the costs of editorial processing, peer review management, DOI registration, online hosting, indexing, and long-term digital preservation.


2. Indexing and Abstracting

The journal is indexed or discoverable in several academic databases, including:

  • Crossref (DOI Registration)
  • Google Scholar
  • ResearchGate
  • WorldCat
  • Dimensions
  • Semantic Scholar
  • OpenAlex
  • Scilit

3. Article Submission Fee

Article Submission: Free
Authors are not required to pay any fee during submission or peer review. APCs are charged only after the manuscript is accepted for publication.

4. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

5. What the APC Covers

  • Editorial evaluation and peer review management
  • DOI registration
  • Online publication of the article
  • E-Certificates for all authors
  • Indexing and metadata distribution
  • Long-term digital archiving

APCs are payable only after acceptance of the manuscript and do not influence editorial or peer review decisions.


6. Waiver and Discount Policy

Group A – Low Income Country Authors

Authors from low-income or developing countries may receive up to a 50% APC waiver.

Group B – Authors Without Research Funding

Researchers without institutional or grant funding may apply for up to a 40% APC discount. Applicants must provide supporting documentation (such as a signed letter from their institutional Head). Decisions are based on the authenticity of the evidence provided. Synergy Publication reserves the right to approve or reject any waiver application.

Group C – Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers who handled at least five manuscripts in a calendar year are eligible to apply for up to a 50% APC discount.

Group D – Student Authors

Student researchers may apply for up to a 30% APC discount by submitting proof of student status.


7. Waiver Application Process

  • Waiver or discount requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.
  • Requests should be sent to the Journal Editor-in-Chief.
  • Requests submitted after acceptance may not be guaranteed.
  • All requests are reviewed confidentially by the editorial office.

8. Ethical Policy on APCs

  • APCs do not influence editorial decisions.
  • All manuscripts undergo standard peer review.
  • Publication decisions are based solely on academic quality and originality.

9. Refund Policy

APCs are non-refundable once the article has been published. Refund requests before publication may be reviewed by the editorial office under exceptional circumstances.
