      Abstract

The present study explores the complex relationship between moral values, resilience, and psychological well-being among adults aged 18 to 60. Using an online survey, a diverse group of participants completed validated psychological questionnaires, including the Resilience Scale (Wagnild & Young, 1988), the Moral Competency Inventory (Lennick & Kiel, 2005), and the Psychological Well-being Questionnaire (Ryff, 1989), with Likert-scale responses. The primary aim of this study is to examine the correlation among moral values, resilience, and psychological well-being, and to investigate the mediating role of resilience in this relationship. It is hypothesized that high psychological well-being is associated with high resilience and strong moral values. Through detailed statistical analyses, this research clarifies the subtle connections among these variables, highlighting resilience’s mediating role between moral values and psychological well-being. Data analysis was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and Spearman’s rho in SPSS. The results aim to deepen our understanding of how individuals’ moral beliefs influence their mental health and resilience at different life stages. Findings show a significant positive correlation between moral values and resilience, while resilience has a significant negative correlation with psychological well-being and moral values. Although support for this finding is limited, it is also affected by a small sample size, gender homogeneity, the absence of a control group, and reliance on self-report measures, all of which further limit generalizability. Nonetheless, it is clear that these three variables are interconnected and can influence each other, with no single factor determining good psychological well-being regardless of levels of moral value and resilience. The study discusses potential implications and offers suggestions for future research. Additionally, it provides valuable insights for both theoretical frameworks and practical interventions aimed at enhancing well-being and resilience in diverse populations.
