Identity of the Data Controller

Synergy Publication is a non-profit publishing house dedicated to the dissemination of high-quality scholarly journals and books, prioritizing academic excellence, ethical publishing practices, transparency, and open access to scholarly knowledge.

The Journal of Advancing Global Order, Regions, and Antiquity (J-AGORA) is published and technically managed by Synergy Publication.

Synergy Publication acts as the Data Controller for all personal data processed through the Journal of Advancing Global Order, Regions, and Antiquity journal platform, which operates on Open Journal Systems (OJS).

Synergy Publication processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679, where applicable, and other relevant national and international data protection laws.

Role-Based Data Use

Readers

Reader information is used for account management, identification, and optional notifications regarding journal content and updates.

Authors

Author information is used for manuscript processing, editorial communication, and publication activities. Upon publication, certain information such as the author's name, affiliation, ORCID iD, and biographical details may be displayed publicly as part of the scholarly record.

Reviewers

JAGORA follows a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers do not have access to authors’ personal information during the review process. Reviewer information is accessible only to authorized editors and administrators for reviewer selection, communication, and management.

Editors and Editorial Board Members

Names, affiliations, countries, and professional profiles of editors and editorial board members may be publicly displayed on the journal website to ensure transparency and accountability.

Administrators

Authorized technical staff of Synergy Publication may access system data only for platform maintenance, security, and technical support purposes. Administrators do not participate in editorial decision-making.


Data Retention

  • Personal data is retained for as long as user accounts remain active or as necessary to fulfill editorial, publishing, and administrative purposes.
  • Information associated with published articles becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and may be retained indefinitely.
  • Users may request deletion of non-published personal information, subject to legal, ethical, and operational requirements.
